Early on Wednesday morning, December 15, there was a deadly crash involving a tractor trailer in Hall County.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened just before 6 a.m. on the I 985 near the Plainview Road overpass. The truck was traveling north and while going around a curve it ran off the highway and into the median. The truck then hit a guardrail, swerved back across the highway and overturned. As it overturned it struck another guardrail and a bridge support. The driver, 49 year old Brian Seven Zegarzewski of Fletcher in North Carolina was thrown from the cab and killed.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly after arriving at the scene.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate were closed between exit 12 and exit 17 following the crash as the highway was blocked with crews working to upright the truck and remove the wreckage.
